Advancing Smart Sustainability: Digital Twins Workshop at IKN (Indonesia New Capital City)
In a strategic move to support Indonesia’s vision for a smart and sustainable capital city, Lie Heng, Director of Technology Solutions at Synnex Metrodata Indonesia, recently joined forces with solution partner Agile for a high-impact workshop at Ibu Kota Nusantara (IKN). The session, hosted in collaboration with Otorita Ibu Kota Nusantara (OIKN), focused on the implementation of Digital Twins technology for advanced digital infrastructure management.
Held at the heart of Indonesia’s future capital, the workshop explored how Digital Twins can simulate, monitor, and optimize urban systems—laying the groundwork for efficient resource use, predictive maintenance, and long-term sustainability. The initiative aligns with IKN’s blueprint for becoming a smart city powered by data-driven governance and green innovation.
We emphasized the importance of cross-sector collaboration in accelerating digital transformation:
“Digital Twins are more than just simulations—they’re the foundation for resilient, responsive infrastructure. This workshop marks a step forward in realizing IKN’s potential as a model for sustainable urban development.”
APCO (Agile Platform for Critical Operations) is an integrated digital twin-based infrastructure operations management solution that combines the strengths of IBM’s AI and analytics, Autodesk’s BIM and spatial modeling, and real-time IoT data. Designed for complex infrastructure environments, APCO provides centralized visibility and control for monitoring, mitigating, and responding to key operational areas including energy consumption, water and waste management, physical security, and environmental impact. By creating a dynamic digital replica of infrastructure systems, APCO enables predictive simulations, real-time anomaly detection, and automated decision-making to reduce downtime, optimize resources, and ensure operational continuity.
Through seamless integration of sensor networks, AI-driven insights, and spatial intelligence, APCO empowers operators to proactively manage critical services and reduce risks related to system failures or environmental thresholds. The platform not only enhances sustainability efforts—such as carbon footprint tracking and energy optimization—but also strengthens resilience against potential disruptions. With a unified, intelligent interface, APCO transforms traditional infrastructure management into a data-driven, responsive, and future-ready operational ecosystem.
The event brought together the multi-helix collaboration reinforcing technology in shaping Indonesia’s future-ready cities.
