KORIKA Holds Strategic Meeting with Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Technology to Align AI Roadmap with New Cabinet Priorities
January 20, 2025 – Jakarta
KORIKA (Indonesia Artificial Intelligence Organization) held a productive coordination meeting on the afternoon of January 20, 2025, with key officials from the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Technology (@kemdiktisaintek.ri). The session brought together Vice Minister Mrs. Stella Christie (@prof.stellachristie), Director General of Science and Technology Mr. Najib Burhani (@najib.burhani), and Cooperation and Public Relations Expert Mr. Suryo.
The discussion focused on KORIKA’s strategic realignment for 2025 in light of the formation of the new Cabinet under President Prabowo Subianto. A key point on the agenda was the continued implementation of the National Artificial Intelligence Strategy (Stranas KA), originally launched in 2020. The initiative, which was inaugurated by former Vice President Ma’ruf Amin, designates KORIKA as the leading entity to drive collaboration, build alliances, and steer national AI efforts toward the realization of Stranas KA's goals.
With Indonesia facing increasingly complex challenges and opportunities in the digital era, the meeting emphasized the need for a dynamic and adaptable AI strategy—one that aligns with national priorities, industrial development, academic research, and the values of Indonesian society. Central to this vision is the pursuit of AI sovereignty, safety, and ethical innovation grounded in Indonesia’s cultural identity.
KORIKA expressed its appreciation to Vice Minister Stella, Mr. Najib, and Mr. Suryo for their thoughtful perspectives and their warm reception. The organization looks forward to ongoing collaboration with the Ministry to strengthen Indonesia’s position in the global AI landscape.
